Location
SolAgra® is a California based company and we are focused mostly in the California Delta region. However our technology is applicable anywhere in the world. As a Delta focused company we are aware of the rich history and unique resource that it is. We are committed to uphold this community and improve it with our solar farms and water projects.
The Delta's unique position as the hub of California's water infrastructure and its brackish water make it the perfect place for developing desalination facilities. The SolAgra Water Solution® (SWS) will both improve water quality and protect the Delta islands' water security. The SWS will add 2.4 million acre feet of clean water per year to the State with virtually no environmental impact. Close proximity to an existing electric substation for the efficient distribution of clean energy directly into the California state power grid. Abandoned natural gas wells with storage caverns can be utilized for the storage of energy be utilized for the storage of energy through Compressed Air Energy Storage technology. Local Benefits
JOBS AND THE LOCAL ECONOMY The Ryer Island Solar Power Plant will create approximately 550 jobs during the construction of this facility. An additional 147 high quality permanent jobs will sustain the agricultural operations and the solar power plant and energy storage facility, while producing electrical power without increasing the levels of green house gases in our state. This solar farm will produce renewable energy credits (REC) that conventional fossil fuel power producers can purchase to offset the green house gases that they produce.

INCREASED REVENUE FOR COUNTY AND STATE
Projections shows that the purchase of project materials will exceed $1.2 billion and the associated sales tax revenues during construction will total more than $20 million. Use taxes associated with the production and sale of energy will provide significant additional revenue to Solano County and the State of California. |
VIRTUALLY NO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
One of the most appealing aspects of solar farming is the low impact solar has on the environment. It's not like the 20th Century technology of oil exploration which is incredibly harmful to the environment and unpleasant to neighbors. The Ryer Island Solar Power Plant is located on land that has been dedicated to agriculture for over 80 years, surrounded by water ways enjoyed by local fishing and boating enthusiasts. So there is virtually no displacement of wildlife or recreation through this project, and because it's solar energy being produced, the environment and it's beauty remain intact. |
