about us
SolAgra® Corporation is multi-faceted solar, agriculture, desalination engineering and development firm. The principal mission of SolAgra® is to merge solar energy production and agriculture on the same land. We are combining proven technologies in innovative ways to serve the energy and water needs of California and the world.
SolAgra® is a collaborative business relationship between the owners of Marin Developers, LLC of Marin County, CA. and Panelized Solar of Modesto, CA. a division of Panelized Structures, Inc. To expand his experience in commercial construction, he left the family business to work for a commercial general contractor. Over the next 5 years, he built two general hospitals in the Washington, D.C. region - one in Fairfax, Virginia, the second in Prince Georges County, Maryland. To increase his knowledge in heavy construction, he worked for the Gordon H. Ball Division of Dillingham Construction building 4 underground subway stations and 6 miles of hard rock tunnels on the Washington, D.C. Metro System. Two of the largest projects built on that system.
Moving to California, in 1978, he worked for Rigging International and developed a patented hinge-up dome design that was built throughout the United States and as far as Chuquicamata, Chile. Upon completion, that project in the Chilean Andes was the largest dome in the Southern Hemisphere.
He opened his own land development and construction firms in 1984. He has developed successful residential and commercial projects in California ever since. After enjoying the boating and recreational opportunities in the California Delta, in 1987 he bought a home on Twitchell Island. That home had a small wind turbine, and it began a fascination and appreciation of renewable energy systems. Since 2005 he has been a Trustee and President of the Twitchell Island Levee District (Reclamation District 1601) and has become familiar with the many issues and benefits of living and working on Delta islands and providing the environmental stewardship that maintains this delicate eco-system in balance.
He formed SolAgra Corporation in 2013 to develop solar technologies that could help solve California’s continuing drought problems - pioneering the SolAgra® Water Solution™ and SolAgra® Farming™. He used the hinge-up concepts of the dome construction to develop the operational facets and efficient erection procedures of the SolAgra Farming Arrays. Details of both concepts are available on this website.
